PhD in Computing Education. My PhD research, conducted during two successive academic sessions, explored the impact of a constructionist Scratch programming pedagogy on the achievements of first-year computer science (CS) students in selected Nigerian polytechnics. The findings of the two studies revealed a consistent pattern: novice CS students exposed to programming via the constructionist Scratch programming pedagogy outperformed their counterparts in the control group who had the traditional pedagogy.
