About Candidate

My name is Lawal Olusola Tosin. I am applying for the position of Lecturer I in the Department of Biochemistry, at Covenant University.

I completed a Ph.D. in Applied Biochemistry with a specialization in Enzyme and Microbial Biotechnology from the Federal University of Technology, Akure with a thesis titled “Biochemical Characterization of Rhodanase from Aspergillus welwitschiae LOT1 Associated with Battery-Effluent Contaminated Soil and Bioremediation Properties of the fungus”.

I have over six years of work experience as Volunteer Research Assistant at Enzymology Unit, Biochemistry Dept., FUTA. I have also worked as an Adjunct Assistant Lecturer at Federal University, Oye-Ekiti for two years (2019 to 2021) and at the same time as a Lecturer at the TOP-UP Programme of the same University for two years (2021-2023). I have co-authored about ten (10) research articles in peer-reviewed and highly revered journals and at the same time attended conferences and workshop training. I have been part of research teams who won two tertiary education trust fund (TETFund) research grants, institutional-based Research (IBR), and a national research fund (NRF).

As I always do, I am committed to diligence and excellence, growth, and development of the University through consistent personal growth and development and interpersonal relationship/collaboration that brings positive change to the institution.
