Job Description
Applications for the Technologist Positions is open in the following Departments:

Applicants must possess a minimum of B.Sc /HND Degree from a recognized Institution with at least a second class lower (2:2) in any of the fields listed above. Applicants must have proven experiences as a laboratory technologist, with a strong technical background in laboratory procedures and techniques.
Key Responsibilities
a. Perform laboratory tests, experiments, and analyses in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
b. Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, and materials for experiments and testing.
c. Calibrate and operate laboratory equipment and instruments, ensuring accuracy and reliability of results.
d. Collect and process samples, specimens, and data for analysis, recording observations and findings accurately.
e. Maintain laboratory records, logs, and documentation, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and compliance with regulatory requirements.
f. Assist with the development and validation of laboratory methods, procedures, and protocols.
g. Conduct quality control checks and assurance procedures to ensure accuracy and reliability of test results.
h. Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues and problems related to laboratory equipment, procedures, and processes.
i. Follow safety protocols and procedures to ensure a safe and secure working environment for laboratory staff and stakeholders.
j. Comply with regulatory requirements, quality standards, and laboratory policies and procedures.
k. Collaborate with laboratory staff, scientists, and researchers to support research projects and studies.
l. Provide technical support and assistance to laboratory staff, students, and other stakeholders as needed.
m. Participate in laboratory meetings, trainings, and professional development activities to stay updated on industry trends and best practices.
n. Contribute to the maintenance and cleanliness of the laboratory facilities and workspaces.
o. Perform other duties as assigned by the Head of Department.
Applicants with first degrees MUST have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service. He or she must be God-fearing and have good communication skills. Those applying for the technologist position are required to possess appropriate skills and orientation for their respective disciplines, as well as possess teaching abilities with adequate research experience.
