Adedeji David Ajadi

I have built my career in several roles and occupations over almost 30 years.

I started at Excel Professional Centre, Ibadan as Registrar/ Head of Administration in 1994, and later doubled as Lecturer, teaching professional students of Accountancy in Financial Management, Management Accounting, Cost Accounting, Financial Accounting, and Taxation. I moved to Audit as an Audit Officer at Aneni Dairo and Co. in 1998.

In March 1999, I joined Chartered Bank plc, where I gained extensive banking operations experience, rising to the position of Operations Manager within 3 years. I later pioneered the operations of an award-winning branch of the bank in Ile-Ife, Osun State between 2003 and 2005.

I subsequently gained experience in management consulting at B. Adedipe Associates Limited and RMS Investment Trust Limited between 2005 and 2006. This gave me valuable exposure to key areas of business management including human resources management, recruitment, learning & development, strategic planning & management, and business research.

I joined The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers as Director/Head of Education & Training in 2010. Working with my team, I succeeded in raising the examination and training standards of the institute to top class level. I was later appointed Acting Registrar & CEO in 2013 and confirmed as Registrar & CEO in 2014, a position I held for seven years until July 2021 when I completed my maximum two tenures in the role.

I am a Fellow of both The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nigeria and The Chartered Institute of Stockbrokers, an Associate of The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, UK, and a Member of The Association of Certified International Investment Analysts. I hold bachelor’s degrees in Applied Accounting and Agric Extension & Rural Sociology; MSc. degrees in Finance & Investment and Agric Economics. I also hold a Ph.D. in Finance.

A graduate of the Basic and Advanced Leadership Courses of the Daystar Leadership Academy (DLA), I have served as a volunteer in the leadership structure of the Small Groups Operations (Cell System) of Daystar Christian Centre, Lagos, Nigeria, for the past 23 years. I am currently a Zonal Coordinator.

I am a recipient of the Chevening Scholarship of the UK government, the Excellent Leadership Award of the CIS, the Top Postgraduate and Educational Trust Awards of The Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, UK, and the CFA (UK) Award for Outstanding Investment Research, among others.

In my leisure time, I enjoy sports, teaching, and volunteering.
