Graphic Artist/Video Editors
Job Description
Applicants must possess proven certification in Graphic Design, Multimedia, or related field. Applicants must have experience as a Video Editor and Graphic Designer with a strong record showcasing video editing and graphic design work. Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, After Effects, Photoshop, Inkscape, Illustrator etc.) is important for this role. Applicant must possess a minimum of three (3) years’ relevant experience in similar role.
Key Responsibilities
a. Develop creative and innovative design concepts, layouts, and visual assets for various projects that might include logos, branding materials, social media graphics, website elements, etc.
b. Utilize industry-standard graphic design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) or other relevant tools to create and edit designs.
c. Conduct research and gather inspiration from various sources to stay informed about design trends, industry best practices, and competitor analysis.
d. Use the appropriate colours and layouts for each graphic while receiving and incorporating feedback from team members to refine and improve designs.
e. Edit and manipulate video footage to create visually engaging and cohesive videos for YouTube and other Social media channels.
f. Understand the narrative and objectives of the video content and develop a storytelling approach through effective sequencing and editing techniques.
g. Edit and mix audio elements, including dialogue, music, and sound effects, to ensure high-quality audio for video projects.
h. Work with copywriters and the creative director to produce the final design.
i. Handle the camera on some occasions and capture footage as and when required for the video content.
j. Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand.
k. Competitive analysis and making sure to create content according to the latest market trends.
l. Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
m. Perform other tasks as directed by the Head of Unit.
Applicants with first degrees MUST have completed the mandatory one-year National Youth Service. He or she must be God-fearing and have good communication skills. Those applying for the technologist position are required to possess appropriate skills and orientation for their respective disciplines, as well as possess teaching abilities with adequate research experience.
